Best Study Spots on Campus

Whiteboard

1. The CoLab (top secret HQ for LMC and CM only)

  • Location: Top floor of Skiles
  • Tip: Bring your Buzzcard to get access to the CoLab studio
  • Pros: Electric kettle for tea and coffee! The computers have all the software you’ll ever need in your LMC/CM career
  • Cons: None ;)

2. CULC rooftop (if you can snag a spot)

  • Location: Across from Skiles
  • Tip: The fall weather won’t last long so make the most of it now!
  • Pros: Open-air and plants with lots of tables
  • Cons: Can get windy

3. Harrison Square

  • Location: Between the Psychology Building and Tech Tower
  • Tip: Bring a sweater or hoodie. The shadier areas can get chilly.
  • Pros: Benches are always free and so are tables for hard-core studying. Always a peaceful vibe and a lone praying mantis to spend time with you.
  • Cons: Prospective students tour through this area often, but  we all have headphones anyway

4. Psychology Building Basement

  • Location: East Campus
  • Tip: Bring your laptop fully charged because there are only two outlets.
  • Pros: Small space, so no crowds; the vents hum with built-in white noise; the sofas are super comfy
  • Cons: Not many outlets; if you’re short the chairs are a little low

5. Book a study room

  • Link: Home / EMS (gatech.edu)
  • Tip: Book as early as possible!
  • Pros: Perfect place to get some super concentrated work done with zero distractions. Great for a study buddy too. ;)
  • Cons: Spots fill up fast.

6. The classroom before your scheduled class (if no class is taking place)

  • This one might seem the most lame, but if you know there’s no class before your 12:13 Sci-Fi class, then head to that room and crank out your Santesso paper there!
